LONGEVITY DESIGN

Designing for how we live – and how well we live.

Longevity is changing the way we think about health, hospitality and luxury living. At KRD STUDIO, we explore how these principles can become an integral part of architecture and interior design – creating environments that actively support wellbeing, recovery and quality of life.

From wellness to longevity

Wellness has long been part of luxury design.

Longevity takes the idea further.

It considers how our surroundings can support us physically, mentally and socially over time – from sleep, movement and recovery to nutrition, connection and the quality of our environment.

For KRD STUDIO, longevity design is not about adding individual wellness features to a project. It is about considering these principles from the very beginning and translating them into the architecture, interiors and everyday experience of a space.

Longevity as foundation of the design process

Every project requires a different response. Longevity principles can shape everything from spatial planning, light and materials to sleep, movement, recovery and the connection to nature.

We combine these elements with thoughtful planning, technical understanding and a strong sense of atmosphere. Where specialist knowledge is required, KRD STUDIO collaborates with medical, wellness, technology and engineering experts to create a coherent design.

ENVIRONMENT

Using light, air, water, acoustics, materials and nature to create healthier and more restorative surroundings.

SLEEP

Spaces designed around rest, circadian rhythm and regeneration.

MOVEMENT

Integrating physical activity naturally into everyday environments.

RECOVERY

Creating dedicated spaces for restoration, treatments and advanced recovery technologies.

NUTRITION

Considering how spaces for food, preparation and social dining can support healthier ways of living.

CONNECTION

Designing environments that encourage meaningful interaction, privacy and a sense of belonging.

One philosophy. Different environments.

The principles of longevity are not tied to a particular type of project.

They can shape a private residence designed around long-term wellbeing, a hospitality destination centered on regeneration, or a yacht conceived as a complete environment for health and recovery.

Our role is to understand which elements are meaningful for each project and integrate them naturally into the overall design – without compromising architecture, atmosphere or individuality.

AMARIS – LONGEVITY AT SEA

76m Motor Yacht Concept

What would a superyacht look like if longevity shaped the design from day one?

Amaris was developed around this question. Rather than adding a conventional spa or wellness area to an existing yacht layout, the entire onboard experience was reconsidered around health, recovery, movement, nutrition and human connection.

The result is a 76-metre motor yacht concept in which advanced longevity treatments, restorative environments and everyday life at sea become part of one integrated experience.

Longevity is an evolving field – and so is our exploration of its possibilities through design.

Future KRD STUDIO studies will explore how longevity can shape private residences, hospitality, aviation and contemporary living – from dedicated spaces to subtle interventions in everyday life.

As technology continues to evolve, our role as designers is to create environments where wellbeing feels effortless – where the benefits are experienced without the technology behind them taking centre stage.

Designing for a better quality of life.

We believe the next evolution of luxury will be defined not only by how a space looks, but by how it makes us feel and supports the way we live.

Longevity design brings together science, technology and human experience with architecture, materiality and atmosphere.

For KRD STUDIO, it is a natural extension of good design: creating environments around people.
